My Story

While fighting for my own 80lb weight loss, I had to come to the realization that health could not be achieved by just cranking it out at the gym. There was something that I was missing. Something much deeper than obsessively counting calories and divvying potato chips into small plastic bags to avoid overeating (didn't always work by the way).

With a background in Biochemistry it finally clicked in my mind that there had to be some sort of connection between health and science. Through my successes and failures, I found passion in learning more about nutrition and helping others experience success in their health without having to go through the struggle and confusion that I did.

In September of 2014 I enrolled into the Masters of Nutrition and Integrative Health program at the esteemed Maryland University of Integrative Health. It was there that I grew and expanded my ideas and thoughts on nutrition, from weight loss alone to the overall health for every disease and health complication. I obtained my Masters degree in December 2016, passed my board exams in August of 2020, and became a Licensed Nutritionist in September of 2020.

Helping others lose weight was my first goal. But as I matriculated through the program, the different clients that I have been able to meet and work with have shown me first hand how nutrition can change lives. As Hippocrates simply wrote, "Let food be thy medicine, and medicine be thy food." Those simple words have inspired the way in which I practice today.
